Digital learning has become the normal over the past 2.5 years after the pandemic hit in 2020. Personally, I have loved my digital learning experience. It gives me the time to do my assignments at my own pace and work from anywhere. I love being able to go home whenever I want and not have to worry about missing class or not being able to turn in assignments. Next semester, my classes go back to in person and I am both excited and nervous for the change. However, one thing I disliked about digital learning is that there is no face-to-face interaction. This makes it hard to ask questions and work with other people. When I am a teacher, I will make sure that there are zoom times available to each student to ask questions and get extra help. It can be difficult to communicate over email and having a zoom time for them to work with me one on one gives students a chance to get any questions answered.

Open educational resources (OER) are resources available to anyone to use for whatever reason they need. They can be used in five different ways, called the Five Rs of OER. These are retain, reuse, revise, remix and redistribute. Each one describes a different way that people can use other people's learning resources. The article I found is from educationweek.org and explains in detail what open educational resources are. The article answers the five most common questions about OER. I chose this site because I thought it was very educational and taught me a lot. https://www.edweek.org/technology/what-is-oer-answers-to-5-questions-about-open-educational-resources/2017/03

Personally, I really enjoyed the PowerPoint assignments and learning how to take full advantage of all of the things PowerPoint has to offer. I actually learned a lot of new skills I did not know how to use before. One thing I never knew how to do was the slide master. That is a really helpful feature that I will definitely use in the future. Another skill I learned was how to link the action buttons to certain slides. I have played jeopardy on PowerPoint before in class but I never knew how to make one myself. One thing I did not like was the design of some of my slides. I think next time I need to find one that works better for my specific content or make my own.

Copyright is protection for peoples intellectual property. It makes sure that no one can get credit for someone else's work. Copyright laws play a big part in what students and teachers can or cannot use in the classroom. It can be helpful to people who put in time and research so their work is protected. Fair use is what allows certain things to be used without permission as long as it is for educational purposes and no one is benefiting from it monetarily. It is important that students at all ages are aware of the seriousness of taking credit for work that is not theirs.      Technology can have a lot of benefits in the classroom, but there are also a lot of issues that come with it. One is academic dishonesty. Because there is so much information available online, it is easy for students to try to use research as their own. It is so important that students are taught the proper way to cite things in all grade levels, especially as they get to high school and college an

Personally, I like Microsoft Word the best because that is what I am used to and have been certified in. I think it is a preference but I had to use Microsoft in middle and high school so I was able to get really familiar with it. One positive about Google Docs is that multiple people can work on one document at the same time. This can be useful for group projects or revising essays. I think that everyone should learn and be comfortable using both Microsoft Word and Google Docs.       The ISTE standard that is most meaningful to me is 2.3 Citizen. This standard states "Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world." I think that this standard is so important because technology is so valuable in this society and it is so important for students to know how to use it appropriately. Students need to know how to be respectful online when using different types of technology. Inspiring students to be positive has always

My name is Macy McMahon! I am a junior at Florida State University majoring in Family and Child Sciences with a double minor in Education and Child Development. I am originally from a small city about 4.5 hours from Tallahassee, Dunedin, FL. One thing about me and who I am is that I am a Christian. Some things that I love to do include, spending time with my friends, reading, traveling, and going to the beach. I am excited for this class and all of the exciting projects that come with it.  I do not have a lot of technology experience in an educational sense. I got a few Microsoft Certifications in middle and high school but have only ever used them for class assignments over the years. I have used different presentation platforms such as PowerPoint and Prezi for class projects, especially in high school. I hope to get more experience in this class and expand my technological experience.  One of the main sources I use to help me create and succeed in my goals of having a successful col
