This school page is a high school science teachers class page. She has posted an announcement, upcoming assignments for both different subjects, and all her contact information. The attendance for the week is posted and she also offers optional assignments for the students. I really liked the way that she formatted her page and the information she used. 



I think I will use a lot of technology to help me accomplish my professional responsibilities. I will use resources to help my students such as Kahoot, Class Dojo, Google Docs, etc. I will also use technology such as Google calendar, online reminders, and Microsoft word to keep my professional duties and notes organized. I have always been a hard copy person but there a lot of great technology resources to take advantage of. 

My experience working on the PB Works was not great because the site kept crashing. This pushed back my groups ability to work on the project together when we planned and we had to make other accommodations. However, when I was able to get on, I thought it was a little hard to navigate and understand so I would probably not use it again unless I had to. It was a little confusing to figure out how to post on it and how the different features worked. If I had to use it in the future for my class, I would probably only use it as a way to post additional resources, not anything they would need to access daily.

          Copyright is protection for peoples intellectual property. It makes sure that no one can get credit for someone else's work. Copyright laws play a big part in what students and teachers can or cannot use in the classroom. It can be helpful to people who put in time and research so their work is protected. Fair use is what allows certain things to be used without permission as long as it is for educational purposes and no one is benefiting from it monetarily. It is important that students at all ages are aware of the seriousness of taking credit for work that is not theirs.      Technology can have a lot of benefits in the classroom, but there are also a lot of issues that come with it. One is academic dishonesty. Because there is so much information available online, it is easy for students to try to use research as their own. BLOG 2

     Personally, I like Microsoft Word the best because that is what I am used to and have been certified in. I think it is a preference but I had to use Microsoft in middle and high school so I was able to get really familiar with it. One positive about Google Docs is that multiple people can work on one document at the same time. This can be useful for group projects or revising essays. I think that everyone should learn and be comfortable using both Microsoft Word and Google Docs.       The ISTE standard that is most meaningful to me is 2.3 Citizen. This standard states "Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world." I think that this standard is so important because technology is so valuable in this society and it is so important for students to know how to use it appropriately. BLOG 1- Introduction

 My name is Macy McMahon! I am a junior at Florida State University majoring in Family and Child Sciences with a double minor in Education and Child Development. I am originally from a small city about 4.5 hours from Tallahassee, Dunedin, FL. One thing about me and who I am is that I am a Christian. Some things that I love to do include, spending time with my friends, reading, traveling, and going to the beach. I am excited for this class and all of the exciting projects that come with it.  I do not have a lot of technology experience in an educational sense. I got a few Microsoft Certifications in middle and high school but have only ever used them for class assignments over the years.
